However, this is an attempt that can never be achieved, for the reason that it is impossible to confirm whether the loneliness of an object is showing by my objective observing or under my subjective helpless view.After the sun explodes, we can still feel its light and warmth for eight minutes, afterwards the world will be as dark as dead.Before the dark(death),we live in the afterglow with trepidation and loneliness.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;我时常纠结于自我与他者，存在与旁观，消失与消逝这类的问题。我也从来不觉得自己比一棵树或者一条毛巾更懂得表达自己，毕竟语言作为媒介，在讯息的发出端和接收端全是个人意志的干扰。所有的人与事物是如此的独立与自由以至于毫无依靠除了孤独感。海德格尔在《存在与时间》中讲过，只有我们不去企图把事物硬塞进我们为其制造的观念的框框中去时，它才能向我们显现自己。有时候我也想尽可能的去旁观，好让人与物得以显现他们的存在，显现他们的孤独。这其实是一种无法证实的尝试，到底是我把自己的孤独强加在了他者的身上还是他者的孤独在我的旁观下得以显现。&nbsp; Therefore, we can never observe an object throughly, so does a person. Although our brains are capable of building up three-dimensional things in our heads, it’s undeniable that visually our observation is one-sided. Some people choose to firmly believe what they see, while others choose to suspect whatever they see.However, I think between one side to the other side of a person or an object lies possibilities for our imagination.I do not know if the apple in front of me is sweet or rotten, because I can not know whether there is a wormhole on the back of this apple. &nbsp; Porus is the father of Eros. While Penia stands for poverty and ugliness, Porus is clever and resourceful. Penia takes advantage of Porus when he is drunk and that is how Eros is born. For me, that these passed-down stories are similar to the patriarchy that run through my family, and have been passed down from generation to generation in China. Born into a relatively conventional family in China, my father always wanted a son because he believed that only boys can inherit certain spirits. Still, I grew up with no brother, but three sisters. I knew I was a girl but I had been told, that it was better to be a boy. Therefore, during my childhood and adolescence, my feelings about gender and about boys were confused and conflicted. These early experiences have had a huge influence on my project. I explore the duality of my existence in the project Penia. I work with the feeling that I am imprisoned by a binary vision of gender and my work expresses the intention to break out of the prison created by this binary view. I intend to represent or even respond to the impact of the ‘gaze’. Starting from Mulvey’s (1975) notion of the Male Gaze, I believe that the gaze is more about projecting onto others assumptions from personal experience. People observe others and reflect on themselves through the gaze in a way that is similar to the way photos, as objects, are both interpreted by and, at the same time, act on spectators. By playing with the notion of the gaze, I want to deconstruct certain stereotypes and blur the boundary lines of gender. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
